About Us

For almost 30 years of marriage (plus dreaming in our single days), we have dreamed of self-sufficency, alternative energy, farming, and a rural life.  As our youngest child was graduating from high school, we decided it was now or never.  We have done our best to get debt free, increase our DIY skills, and finally shopped for and found our property in March of 2011.  This site is about turning the 13 acre hay field into the small farm of our dreams and learning  all the skills necessary for having a self-sufficient life.
