Week 1 Grocery List
Ramen Noodles
Cabbage 1 cup
Carrots 1 cup
Green onion about 3
Peanuts 1 cup
2 ½ sticks butter
4 tortillas
3 chicken breasts
Great Northern beans or navy beans
dried
I can Italian beans
1 can mixed vegetables
1 can tuna
Biscuit mix – 2 cups
Milk
1 T. flour
2 beef boullion cubes
Dried Basil
Garlic
Lemon pepper
4 pineapple rings
1 loaf french bread
Frozen mixed vegetables
applesauce
1 package mac n cheese
vegetable oil
3 eggs
Peanut butter
Oatmeal
Sugar Vanilla
Cocoa powder
Week 1 Instructions
Ramen Cabbage Salad
Prepare Ramen noodles per package
directions. Put in colander and spray with cold water to cool. Add
a cup of shredded or grated red cabbage, a cup of grated carrots and
some chopped green onion and toss with boiled noodles and a dressing:
Mix 1 tablespoon each vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil, and a
teaspoon sugar. Pour on ramen salad and toss.
Bread Spread:
Put ½ stick of butter or margarine in
a bowl. Microwave 20 seconds (or heat on stove until just softened
or leave out). Add crushed garlic and basil. Mix and spread on
french bread. Warm in oven.
Lemon Pepper Chicken:
Dip chicken in oil and sprinkle with
lemon pepper. Roast at 350 for 40 minutes.
Sauteed veggies:
While chicken is cooking, put 1 T. oil
in pan on medium high, add frozen mixed vegetables and a little sea
salt and pepper, stir until heated through and softened (about 10
minutes).
White chicken chili:
Night before put beans in large kettle
filled with water to soak. Next morning, drain the beans, put in
crock pot and cover with water. Add: 3 T flour, 1 t. salt, ½ t.
pepper, 1 chicken breast, and a couple red cayenne peppers (or
sprinkle in cayenne pepper). Put crock pot on low. Will be done
about 5:00 pm Take out chicken, cut up and stir back in before
serving.
Biscuits:
Mix biscuits according to biscuit mix
directions.
Gravy:
Boil 2 cups of water. Add two boullion
cubes and stir until dissolved. In a kettle, melt 2 T. butter. Add
2 rounded T. of flour. Once it is mixed with the butter, and
boullion and stir until thickened.
Tuna Mac:
Cook Mac n cheese as directed. Add a
can of drained tuna to which lemon pepper has been added. Stir.
