Blueberry Experiment
A few days ago, I noticed some energetic new growth on our blueberry bush. Besides us, other family members have expressed interest in some blueberry plants, so of course I went to youtube. I don’t have any rooting hormone, so I looked up some natural ways to help encourage cuttings to root. The number one choice seemed to be cinnamon, and it was encouraging that one video was in July. So I got to work. I removed the lower leaves, coated the bottom inch of the stems with cinnamon, poked holes in the soil, and inserted the cuttings. Then I covered the tub with plastic wrap and tied some yarn around it so he would hold to the tub better, and moved the tub to the north side of our wrap around porch. We shall see what happens. There was nothing to lose as the tub already had dirt in it, the cuttings were free, and I already had cinnamon. Be bold in homesteading. Experiment.
